Your words matter
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what The Soft Life Blueprint (“Softlife,” “we,” or “us”) collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
What we collect and why
- Account information: your Firebase account identifier, and your email address when provided through email or Apple sign-in, for authentication and account recovery.
- Journal and reflection content: entries, prompts, moods, tea pairings, and onboarding responses so the app can provide its core features.
- Sanctuary conversations: only conversations you choose to save. Saving is off by default.
- AI memory: a short rolling summary built from your entries to provide continuity between reflection sessions.
- Subscription information: your tier, product identifier, status, and a random purchase token. Apple processes payment details.
- Usage and safety records: reflection usage counts and, when a crisis-safety signal is detected, a flag, timestamp, and pseudonymous account hash. We do not store message content in the safety log.
We do not use advertising identifiers, sell personal information, or include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
AI processing
When you use Sanctuary, the text you submit, recent conversation context, and relevant journal context are sent to OpenAI to generate a response and update optional memory. OpenAI’s moderation service also processes the submitted text for safety. Do not include information you do not want processed by these services.
Under OpenAI’s API data policies, content sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models, and is retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring before deletion, unless a longer period is required by law. Softlife sends OpenAI a pseudonymous account hash rather than your name or email.
Voice journaling
Voice journaling and dictation use Apple’s on-device speech recognition. If on-device recognition is unavailable for your selected language or device, dictation is unavailable and the app asks you to type instead.
Scanning a paper journal
If you choose “Scan a journal page,” Apple’s on-device frameworks use your camera to photograph the page and create an editable transcription. The photographed page remains on your device during review, is not uploaded to Softlife, and is discarded when you close the review screen. Only the text you review and choose to save becomes a journal entry.
Where information is stored
Account authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. Cloud journal data and saved reflections are stored in MongoDB Atlas. The service runs on AWS. Information is encrypted in transit and stored on encrypted infrastructure. Softlife does not currently provide end-to-end encryption.
Your choices
- Export: Settings → Export my data creates a JSON file with your profile and cloud content.
- Delete: Settings → Delete all my data permanently deletes your account and associated cloud content.
- Sanctuary history: saved conversations can be reviewed and deleted individually.
- AI memory: Settings → What the AI remembers → Forget everything clears the rolling summary.
- Device-only guest data: guest entries remain on that device and can be removed by clearing app data or deleting the app.
Service providers
We use Firebase/Google for authentication, MongoDB Atlas for storage, OpenAI for AI generation and moderation, Apple for payments and on-device speech and page-text recognition, and AWS for hosting.
Retention and security
We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. No security measure is perfect, but we use access controls, encryption in transit, and encrypted cloud infrastructure to protect information.
Children
Softlife is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it. Additional age requirements may apply where you live.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. We will post the updated date on this page. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@christyspace.com.
